The specially formulated adsorbent layer does not use an adhesive, so the HaruPITA can be peeled off and reapplied over and over without leaving marks.

With a high visible light transmissivity (84%), bright light still gets through while ultraviolet light is all but eliminated.

Save energy

Providing a high sunlight reflectivity (9.5%), the HaruPITA brings the indoor effective temperature down about 3.5° F (2° C).

Blocks ultraviolet radiation

The high effectiveness of blocking ultraviolet rays prevents interior colors from becoming dull (browning) and protects food from degradation.

Precautions

The Solar Radiation & UV Cut Film HaruPITA cannot be used with the following types of glass:
Wired glass (glass with wire mesh), frosted glass, specially shaped glass, reflective glass, laminated glass

The Risks of Ultraviolet Rays
Advice from a Physician

Although a bronze tan has long been considered a sign of health, that was because the adverse effects of ultraviolet rays on the skin were not widely known. In recent years, however, the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays, particularly UVA waves, are better understood, including the damage to human DNA that exposure to UVA can cause. Other ill effects include the aging of skin (blemishes, wrinkling and sagging), skin cancer and cataracts.

There are three types of ultraviolet radiation: UVA, UVB and UVC.

UVA rays have a long wavelength, reaching the earth’s surface even on cloudy days and passing through glass, so they can penetrate deeply into the body and cause damage. UVB rays cannot pass through glass, and UVC rays cannot currently reach the earth’s surface. UVA rays accumulate in the body, where they can cause damage for 10 or 20 years.

Another aspect of UVA rays is that they bombard the earth all year-round, not just seasonally. In Japan, the months of May to August receive the most UVA rays out of the year, with less UVA radiation in the winter, though still about half that of summer.

In America and Australia, skin cancer due to ultraviolet radiation is extremely common, and it is reported that by taking measures for children from infancy until 18 years of age on a daily basis, such as using sunblock, hats and sunglasses, the incidence of skin cancer can be cut by about 80 percent.

For those with sensitive skin or who wish to avoid a tan and blemishes, the best measures when outside include sunblock, hats, parasols, sunglasses and long gloves. Still, how about when relaxing indoors or when riding in a car? UVA rays can get inside.

There remains a low level of awareness of the dangers of ultraviolet radiation when indoors or in a car. Although a light-blocking curtain can be used, it would be nice to be able to enjoy the weather on sunny days.

Ultraviolet-blocking film that allows visible light to penetrate is an excellent solution for spending time indoors or in a car. I hope you will consider taking measures to protect yourself from these harmful rays.

I also recommend taking measures against the ultraviolet radiation that bombard the earth all year-round for your family members, particularly children whose bodies are not yet mature.
